🥇 Une médaille d'or pour notre Mâcon Chardonnay Les Leynes 2025

Nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer que notre Mâcon Chardonnay Les Leynes 2025 a obtenu une médaille d'or lors du Concours de la Saint-Vincent de Mâcon 2026.

Notre parcelle des Leynes, d'une superficie de 1,1804 hectare, s'épanouit sur un terroir argilo-calcaire bénéficiant d'une exposition ouest. Ces caractéristiques contribuent à donner naissance à un vin de caractère, où fraîcheur, élégance et expression du terroir se rencontrent harmonieusement.

Cette distinction récompense le travail mené à la vigne et au chai, et nous encourage à poursuivre notre engagement dans l'élaboration de vins authentiques et fidèles à leur origine.

🥇 Gold Medal for our Mâcon Chardonnay Les Leynes 2025

We are delighted to announce that our Mâcon Chardonnay Les Leynes 2025 has been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2026 Saint-Vincent de Mâcon Wine Competition.

Our Les Leynes vineyard parcel covers 1.1804 hectares and is rooted in clay-limestone soils with a west-facing exposure. These characteristics contribute to the creation of a wine with personality, where freshness, elegance and a true expression of terroir come together harmoniously.

This award is a wonderful recognition of the work carried out both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and encourages us to continue crafting authentic wines that remain faithful to their origins.

🥇 Une deuxième médaille pour notre Mâcon-Villages La Garde 2024

Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que notre Mâcon-Villages La Garde 2024 a remporté sa deuxième médaille de l'année, cette fois-ci au Concours de Paris.

Notre parcelle emblématique, La Garde, est un véritable trésor de 3 hectares, situé sur les terres du village de Plottes. C'est ici que Catherine et Éric ont planté leurs premières vignes il y a maintenant 34 ans, donnant naissance à une aventure familiale guidée par la passion, la patience et le respect du terroir.

Aujourd'hui encore, cette parcelle occupe une place toute particulière au sein du domaine et continue de raconter, millésime après millésime, une partie de notre histoire familiale.

🥇 A Second Medal for our Mâcon-Villages La Garde 2024

We are delighted to announce that our Mâcon-Villages La Garde 2024 has received its second medal of the year, this time at the Paris Wine Competition.

Our emblematic vineyard parcel, La Garde, is a true treasure spanning 3 hectares, located in the village of Plottes. It was here, 34 years ago, that Catherine and Éric planted their very first vines, marking the beginning of a family adventure driven by passion, patience and a deep respect for the terroir.

Today, this special parcel continues to hold an important place at the heart of our estate, telling part of our family story with every new vintage.

🌱 Une nouvelle plantation de Pinot Noir en 2026

L'année 2026 marque une nouvelle étape dans le développement de notre domaine avec la plantation de 48 ares supplémentaires de Pinot Noir, en appellation Bourgogne.

Il faudra cependant encore faire preuve d'un peu de patience avant de découvrir les premiers vins issus de cette jeune vigne. Quelques années seront nécessaires pour permettre aux ceps de s'enraciner pleinement et d'exprimer tout le potentiel de leur terroir.

Nous nous réjouissons déjà à l'idée de vous faire découvrir ce futur Bourgogne Pinot Noir, un nouveau projet qui s'inscrit naturellement dans la continuité de notre engagement : élaborer des vins authentiques, précis et profondément attachés à leur terroir.

🌱 A New Pinot Noir Planting in 2026

The year 2026 marks another important step in the development of our estate with the planting of an additional 48 ares of Pinot Noir under the Bourgogne appellation.

A little patience will still be required before we can enjoy the first wines produced from these young vines. They will need several years to establish deep roots and fully reveal the potential of their terroir.

We are already looking forward to sharing this future Bourgogne Pinot Noir with you — a new project that naturally continues our commitment to crafting authentic, precise wines that faithfully reflect their terroir.

🍷 Une nouvelle expérience : notre premier fût de chêne

Cette année, une nouveauté fait son entrée au Domaine Giroud : notre tout premier fût de chêne.

L'objectif est de vinifier une petite partie de notre Mâcon-Uchizy Vieilles Vignes dans ce fût afin d'explorer comment toutes les qualités et le potentiel de cette magnifique parcelle argilo-calcaire, plantée de vignes âgées de plus de 50 ans, peuvent s'exprimer et évoluer au contact du chêne.

Notre démarche n'est surtout pas de marquer le vin avec des notes boisées qui viendraient dominer son identité ou masquer ses arômes. Au contraire, nous souhaitons utiliser le fût comme un véritable outil d'élevage, capable d'apporter texture et complexité tout en respectant l'expression naturelle du terroir.

Nous pratiquerons notamment le bâtonnage, une technique consistant à remettre les lies en suspension afin d'apporter davantage de gras, de rondeur et de profondeur au vin.

Une nouvelle expérience menée avec curiosité et humilité, dont nous avons hâte de découvrir l'évolution et, bientôt, de partager le résultat avec vous.

🍷 A New Experiment: Our First Oak Barrel

This year marks another exciting milestone at Domaine Giroud with the arrival of our very first oak barrel.

Our goal is to vinify a small portion of our Mâcon-Uchizy Vieilles Vignes in this barrel and explore how the qualities and potential of this beautiful clay-limestone parcel, planted with vines over 50 years old, can evolve and express themselves alongside oak.

Our intention is certainly not to produce a heavily oaked wine that would overpower its identity or mask its natural aromas. Instead, we see the barrel as a valuable ageing tool, capable of bringing texture and complexity while preserving the authentic expression of the terroir.

We will also practise bâtonnage, gently stirring the lees to keep them in suspension and bring additional richness, roundness and depth to the wine.

This is a new experiment for Domaine Giroud, approached with curiosity and humility. We are excited to follow its evolution and look forward to sharing the result with you.
